Join the EBAC Auxiliary Family

The EBAC Auxiliary is the community-based fundraising arm of the EBAC agency and provides an important component of EBAC’s support structure.  As a volunteer organization, the Auxiliary serves four distinct and important roles in furthering EBAC’s mission to improve the well-being of children, youth and families by reducing the impact of trauma and social inequities:

EBAC Ambassador

Auxiliary members share EBAC’s story of impact with family, friends, and colleagues which broadens the community’s understanding of and base of support for our children and families’ needs and the important work EBAC does to address those needs.

Direct-Volunteering

Auxiliary members volunteer their time to help staff and support kids and families in EBAC programs. Examples include working at food bank distributions, after school carnivals, book drives, and program site clean-up days. An Auxiliary officer coordinates these volunteer opportunities to help ensure members find meaningful ways to engage with and support EBAC’s children, families, and staff.

Community Philanthropy

Auxiliary members plan and host EBAC’s largest annual fundraiser, the Gala. Proceeds from the Gala provide critical unrestricted funds to support EBAC’s programs. Each year EBAC generates a limited amount of unrestricted funds from sources such as fundraising events, individual contributions, investment income, surplus from our contract as a IV-E training organization, and one particular government contract for our Medi-Cal Administrative Activities. These critical unrestricted funds are pooled together and used to fill funding gaps in program budgets as they arise.

Professional Resources

Auxiliary members offer their own expertise and professional skills to EBAC and refer colleagues to help fill other specific needs as they periodically arise. Examples include architecture consultation, government relations consulting, real estate expertise, and painting services. Often these services are provided pro bono.
